Cat Poems

This week we have been writing poems about cats. 

We read this poem as  a starting point and inspiration for our writing.

We looked at some pictures of cats and started to write down all our ideas about cats. We then shared our ideas and made two word lists. One was of interesting verbs- what that say what cats could be doing and adjectives - words we could use to describe our cats. 

We used these word lists to help us write our poems. We tried to use interesting adjectives and verbs in our poems. We drew our cats sleeping on a mat.

My chubby cat is growling, yowling, howling.

My furry cat is scratching, meowing, purring.

My sleepy cat is sleeping, snoring, dreaming.
