Written Language Work

As part of our work around our Inquiry into Identity we discussed the What If Question - What if we all looked the same? Then we decided we could change just one thing about ourselves- our hair. We drew what we would like our hair to look like and used this as the planning and motivation for our story writing. We tried to use some good descriptive language in our writing.

Read our stories and see if you can imagine what we would look like.

My hair will be curly like Harlequin. My hair will be beautiful because it is curly. I love my hair because it is shiny. Monique

My hair has got shaved on the sides and on my head it is long. Also I have a Mohawk on the inside of my hair and want it to shoot out lightning. It will be sparkly and colourful. Dominic F

I want to paint my hair green because I can be like Shrek and no one will know who I am.  Reza

My hair is crazy and straight. I get long hair. I shoot with my crazy hair. My hair has rainbow colours. I like my hair because it is very normal. Lucas

My hair is pink and blue. I have a headband that is white and blue. I love my hair and no one will know I am and it is so glittery. Belle

If I had a twin my hair would be on one side pink and with one side purple and snowflakes on each side. I will have dark blue stripes. It will also be sparkly on each side. I love all about my hair. It can be shiny and one part long and one part short. What I really like about my hair is that it is pretty and nobody will know which is which. Diana

My hair is long but soon I am having a haircut. It is going to be short. Then it is going to grow because I can see it. When I look up I can’t see it. I have black hair, even when I was a baby. Hevin

What if my hair was colourful and cloudy? Would I be able to tie my hair? I like my hair because it is colourful. Amy

My hair is going to be purple and it is going to be straight. I love my hair. My hair is going to go down to the floor.  Quinn

My hair is sparkly. The colour of my hair is dark blue and sparkly green. My hair is shooting water. My hair is colourful and short/ My hair has a glow so it can stick up.  I like my hair because it shoots water.  Evan

I would like to have curly hair and wavy hair. It would be blond hair and long hair. It would be so long it could touch the ground. It would be so curly that it gets tied up. Talia

My hair is spiky and colourful. My hair is sticking out of the world. My hair is long and shiny and it has a blue Mohawk. I love my hair because it is like a sword. Caysen

I want my hair to be brown and red and it has snowball in it. My hair will be straight and curly at the bottom of my hair and I want it to be short. Ella

My hair would be blond, sparkly and it would have cat ears. My cat ears would be brown and red. My hair will have pink stripes. It would be straight and a bit long. I would brush it twice a day at least. Elizabeth

My hair is straight and colourful. On one side is green and the other side is purple. It is amazing. Danielle

If I have colourful hair, I would tell my friend and my friend will be my friend for ever. I will have rainbow hair that is curly. Fah

I wish I had a Mohawk that shoots out fireballs and lazers. I want my Mohawk hair to be red and black. I would love my Mohawk hair and it would be like a shield. Also it would be spiky. Dominic P

My hair is a rainbow colour. My hair is long to the grass. I like my hair because it looks funny. Kenlyn

Maths Learning

In maths we have been learning groupings that make ten. We played fun maths games to help with our learning.

Swimming

We have been lucky enough to have had swimming instructors for the last two weeks. The focus was very much on water safety. We learnt ways to stay afloat, safety around beaches and pools and built on our confidence in the water.
